With the release of a new acoustic cover of Amaranthine, Nicoletta Rosellini presents a fresh and intimate interpretation of one of the most emotional songs by Amaranthe. This version was recorded as a duet together with James Delbridge of the Canadian and US power metal band Lycanthro, adding a new vocal dimension to the song.

Originally released in 2011 on Amaranthe’s self titled debut album Amaranthe, Amaranthine quickly became one of the band’s most recognizable tracks. The song is known for its melodic accessibility and its lyrical focus on timeless love, emotional connection and hope. These themes made it particularly well suited for a more restrained and emotional reinterpretation.

An acoustic duet with orchestral elements

For this release, the arrangement was deliberately stripped down to emphasize vocals, harmonies and atmosphere, while still featuring a subtle orchestral underlay that adds depth and cinematic weight to the acoustic setting. The combination of acoustic instrumentation and orchestral textures allows the song to retain its emotional intensity without relying on heaviness or distortion.

The duet format plays a central role in this interpretation. The interaction between Nicoletta and James Delbridge creates a balanced vocal dialogue that highlights both voices and brings a new sense of closeness to the song. Rather than reinventing the original, this version aims to honor its spirit while offering a different emotional perspective.

A community driven collaboration

This release also marks a special moment in the ongoing relationship between Nicoletta and her audience. For the first time, she invited her Ko-fi community to actively apply for a collaboration role by submitting vocal examples. From these submissions, the duet partner for Amaranthine was selected.

As with every monthly release, the song was made possible through the continued support of the Ko-fi community. Their contributions help fund production, recording and release, making it possible to maintain a consistent schedule of high quality cover songs. Beyond financial support, the community plays an increasingly important role in shaping creative decisions and future projects.

Looking ahead to February: Creed – With Arms Wide Open

The community has already decided on the next release. In February, Nicoletta will take on With Arms Wide Open by Creed, following a community vote.

The song was originally released in 2000 on Creed’s album Human Clay. Written by Scott Stapp, it reflects on themes of fatherhood, responsibility and unconditional love. Over the years, it has become one of the band’s most iconic and emotionally resonant songs, leaving a lasting mark on early 2000s rock music.

A continuing musical journey

With Amaranthine and the upcoming With Arms Wide Open, Nicoletta Rosellini continues to explore emotionally driven songs through reinterpretation and collaboration. Each release represents a shared journey between artist, guest musicians and supporters, shaped by trust, community involvement and a passion for meaningful music.
