The Icelandic Expedition ❄️
I have had a dream for some time now, precisely for the past three years, since I started working with my friend and videomaker Matteo Ermeti, who has directed all of Alterium’s videos and the last two videos by Le Tre Disgrazie.
Matteo is deeply passionate about everything related to Iceland. He has visited the country many times and has mapped most of its points of interest and breathtaking landscapes.
Ever since we filmed our first video together, Drag Me To Hell, in the summer of 2023, he began showing me the landscape photos and videos he had taken there. Video after video, we kept finding ourselves talking about Iceland and thinking, Wouldn’t it be amazing to make a video there?
Needless to say, we thought about it again this year when we met at the beginning of October to film Alterium’s two new videos, especially because the new album includes two songs with an “ice” theme. We filmed one of them entirely in the studio, where you will see the icebergs I built with a great deal of effort. The other video we recorded is for a differently themed song.
For this album’s promotional cycle, we had not planned to make more than two videos for budgetary reasons. However, the idea kept turning over in my mind, and eventually I said: “Let’s try to make it a reality!”
And this is where you come in. I won’t hide the fact that the last video weekend cost twice as much as the initial budget, and Iceland is certainly not an inexpensive destination. So I decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign on my Ko-fi page and invite you to become part of this video production!
I have therefore set a new goal that will help cover:
Flights, including several pieces of luggage, and transportation to the airport. The only flights available in March depart from Milan Malpensa
Renting a 4x4 car to reach the most beautiful locations
Accommodation
Food and fuel
Thermal clothing and equipment, such as crampons
The total cost for two people, Matteo and me, is approximately €3,000. As much as I would love to bring the other band members with me, the expenses would become even higher: just think about transporting the instruments, renting additional cars, arranging more beds, and covering more food costs.
What will you receive in return?
Everyone who contributes, even with a small amount, will have their name included in the video’s final credits. By default, I will use your Ko-fi name; please contact me privately if you would prefer to use a different name.
Exclusive updates, including photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes content, will be shared on my Ko-fi page.
Anyone who donates at least €50 will receive an exclusive photograph at home, hand-numbered and signed by me. The 20 × 30 cm photograph will be taken by Matteo and me in Iceland. Shipping is available worldwide.
The crowdfunding campaign is now live on my Ko-fi page and will remain active until March 1 2027. The filming period would be scheduled for March 12–17.
