50 Cover Songs on YouTube: Nicoletta Rosellini Reaches a Special Milestone

At the end of June, Nicoletta Rosellini’s YouTube cover series reached a special milestone: with her latest release, she has now produced and published 50 cover songs, each accompanied by its own video.

But this milestone is about far more than just a number. Every one of these songs represents time, passion, organisation and a great deal of attention to detail. From emotional acoustic versions and orchestral arrangements to powerful metal covers, Nicoletta continues to reveal new facets of her voice on her channel.

Over the years, the cover series has become an important part of the connection between Nicoletta and her fans. It not only presents familiar songs in a new light, but also reflects a great deal of Nicoletta’s musical personality: emotional, versatile, detail-oriented and always close to her community.

From Metal Anthems to Emotional Ballads

Anyone exploring Nicoletta’s YouTube channel will discover an impressive stylistic range. It includes songs from metal, rock, pop and folk, as well as music inspired by fantasy worlds, video games and major films.

Some of her most successful releases include her versions of Sonata Arctica’s I Have a Right, Nightwish’s Turn Loose the Mermaids, Skyrim’s The Dragonborn Comes, Miracle of Sound’s Valhalla Calling and Nightwish’s Élan. These songs demonstrate how powerfully Nicoletta’s voice can work in both epic and deeply emotional arrangements.

At the same time, the channel also features many intimate and heartfelt interpretations. Covers such as House of the Rising Sun, Tears of the Dragon, Open Arms and If the Story Is Over reveal a quieter side of her music and place the emotional strength of her voice at the centre.

A particularly strong example of Nicoletta’s vocal versatility is Down by the River from the video game Baldur’s Gate 3. The song combines a mysterious, almost fragile atmosphere with powerful and expressive moments.

It is precisely this mixture that makes the series so exciting. Nicoletta does not limit herself to a single genre, but moves freely between rock, metal, pop, folk, soundtracks and symphonic soundscapes. The result is a musical archive that continues to surprise both long-time fans and new listeners.

More Than Just a YouTube Upload

At first glance, a cover video might appear to be an occasional upload alongside Nicoletta’s own musical projects. In reality, however, every song involves an extensive creative process.

First, a suitable arrangement has to be created. Depending on the song, instruments are newly recorded by commissioned musicians, orchestral elements are added, or the original composition is deliberately transformed into a more stripped-down version.

This is followed by vocal recordings, backing vocals, mixing and mastering. Filming, editing, thumbnail design and the subsequent release on YouTube and streaming platforms are also part of the production process.

This level of effort is particularly challenging when it comes to cover songs, as such videos often cannot be monetised on YouTube at all, or only to a very limited extent. Advertising revenue usually goes to the copyright holders of the original songs.

Despite this, Nicoletta continues to release new covers regularly. The series was born from a genuine passion for music and, at the same time, creates an especially direct connection with her community.

50 Published Songs – But Not All of Them Are Still Visible Today

There is one important detail when counting the 50 cover songs: one of the originally published videos is no longer regularly available on Nicoletta’s YouTube channel.

In March 2025, she released a symphonic metal cover of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven”. The version combined the emotional strength of the famous rock ballad with a cinematic metal atmosphere and received a very positive response from listeners.

Unfortunately, the video was removed from YouTube shortly afterwards due to a copyright complaint. Nevertheless, the work on the song and its accompanying video remains a full part of the cover series.

The version has not disappeared entirely. The cover video is still available to Ko-fi supporters as an exclusive goodie, while the audio can also still be heard on YouTube: Link.

Including this previously published but later removed video, Nicoletta’s cover series now consists of a total of 50 songs.

This makes the milestone even more meaningful, as it represents not only the videos currently visible on the channel, but all the work that has been created since the series began.

A Strong Connection with the Ko-fi Community

In recent years, Nicoletta’s Ko-fi community has become an important part of the cover series. Fans not only help support the production of new songs, but can also actively influence which covers will be created in the future through their own suggestions and monthly polls.

This direct connection makes the series especially personal. Many releases are shaped not only by an artistic idea, but also by the exchange with the people who follow and support Nicoletta’s music.

Contributions on Ko-fi help cover the costs of arrangements, instrumental recordings, mixing, mastering, video production and many other stages of the creative process.

Supporters also receive access to exclusive digital content such as behind-the-scenes material, photographs, audio files and special goodies.

As a result, the cover series has become much more than just a YouTube project. It is a shared musical journey between Nicoletta and her community.

A Journey That Began on Nicoletta’s Birthday

The series began on 27 April 2019 with Nicoletta’s cover of Sonata Arctica’sI Have a Right”. The fact that the first video was released on Nicoletta’s birthday makes the beginning of the series even more special in retrospect.

Since then, the channel has developed considerably. From the early interpretations to the productions of today, it is easy to see how much experience, expression and artistic identity have gone into this work.

Each song reveals a different side of Nicoletta’s voice: sometimes powerful and metallic, sometimes gentle and vulnerable, and sometimes epic and cinematic. This is exactly what keeps the series varied and alive.

With 50 cover songs, Nicoletta Rosellini has now reached a particularly meaningful point in her journey. The milestone shows how consistently she has pursued her musical vision and how strong the connection with her fans has become over the years.

At the same time, it does not feel like an ending, but rather like the beginning of a new chapter.

Thank You to All Supporters

This milestone would not be the same without the people who listen to, share, comment on and support Nicoletta’s music. Every view, every like, every comment and every contribution on Ko-fi helps keep the series going while also supporting Nicoletta’s main project, Alterium.

Fifty cover songs are a reason to celebrate. Above all, however, they show how much music can be created when passion, perseverance and a dedicated community come together.

Nicoletta’s cover series continues, and the next songs are already waiting to tell their own stories.
