On BurnYourEars.de, a new in-depth interview with Nicoletta Rosellini was published on August 28, once again conducted by Wölfi (founder of the platform Rock-Forum.de). This is the second part, while the first part can be found here: Part 1.

This time, the focus is on Alterium’s new EP Stormrage, the decision to self-release it, and the creative inspirations behind the songs. Nicoletta also talks about personal influences, collaborations, and the challenges of balancing music and professional life.

Stormrage as a Turning Point

In the conversation, Nicoletta explains why the EP serves as a bridge between Alterium’s acclaimed debut and the upcoming second full-length album. She describes the move toward independence after her label ceased to operate, as both a challenge and an opportunity to strengthen the band’s presence.

Diversity of the EP

The EP not only features the energetic tracks Stormrage and Sui, rooted in fantasy and mythology, but also an orchestral reinterpretation of Of War and Flames and a powerful cover of Symphony X’s Paradise Lost. These choices highlight both the band’s creative range and their respect for musical influences that shaped them.

The interview also introduces the Fire Choir, a group of friends and colleagues from the metal scene who added depth to the songs. Nicoletta underlines the importance of this community spirit, which gives Alterium’s work an additional dimension.

Visuals and Collaborations

Special attention is given to the video for Stormrage, created with videomaker Matteo Ermeti and featuring cosplayer Andrea Bardi as Illidan. Both collaborations reflect the strong link between Alterium’s music and nerd culture, a recurring theme in Nicoletta’s creative world.

Looking Ahead

The conversation concludes with Alterium’s upcoming tour alongside Fabio Lione’s Dawn of Victory, a dream come true for Nicoletta, who sees Fabio as both a mentor and a key influence. For her, the EP Stormrage is more than just a release: it is a statement of independence and a promise of what is yet to come.
