With her new orchestral cover of With Arms Wide Open, Nicoletta Rosellini revisits one of the most iconic rock ballads of the late 1990s. Originally released by Creed in 1999, the song became a defining anthem of the post-grunge era and remains one of the band’s most recognized tracks to this day.
Nicoletta’s interpretation focuses on emotional clarity rather than scale. Instead of replicating the original’s arena-rock atmosphere, this version introduces a symphonic arrangement that supports the message of the lyrics while keeping the heart of the song intact.
As with all recent releases, the cover was made possible through the support of her Ko-fi community, whose contributions continue to fund arrangement, recording, mixing, and mastering.
With Arms Wide Open – A defining moment for Creed
Released on the album Human Clay, With Arms Wide Open marked a turning point for Creed. While the band was already gaining recognition in the American rock scene, this song expanded their reach significantly.
Written by frontman Scott Stapp, the lyrics reflect a deeply personal moment: the anticipation of becoming a father. Unlike many rock ballads of the era, the song embraced vulnerability and sincerity, which helped it resonate far beyond its original audience.
Its melodic structure, memorable chorus, and emotional honesty turned it into a chart-topping success and a staple of late-90s rock radio.

An orchestral reinterpretation
Nicoletta’s orchestral cover of With Arms Wide Open builds on that emotional foundation. The arrangement introduces a cinematic atmosphere without overshadowing the vocal performance.
Rather than emphasizing drama, the interpretation highlights restraint and clarity. The orchestral elements provide depth and texture, allowing the message of hope and new beginnings to remain at the center of the performance.
This balance between power and subtlety defines the February release and continues the stylistic direction established throughout her recent cover series.
With this release, Nicoletta presents the 47th song on her YouTube channel, steadily approaching the next milestone in her ongoing series. With more than 1.5 million total views, the channel continues to grow alongside a dedicated and supportive community.
Community update – March cover already chosen
While February focuses on With Arms Wide Open, the next release has already been decided. Through a community vote, Nicoletta’s supporters selected I Miss the Misery by Halestorm as the March cover.
The song was released in 2012 on Halestorm’s second studio album, The Strange Case Of…, a record that marked a major breakthrough for the American hard rock band. Fronted by Lzzy Hale, Halestorm gained international recognition during this era, blending modern hard rock with classic rock influences and a strong, character-driven vocal identity.
The album showcased the band’s dynamic range, from high-energy rock tracks to more melodic and emotionally layered compositions. Its success helped establish Halestorm as one of the prominent female-fronted acts in contemporary rock.
As always, the Ko-fi community not only supports the production process but also actively shapes upcoming releases through their votes, making each new cover part of an ongoing collaborative journey.
Looking ahead
With this orchestral reinterpretation of a 90s rock classic, Nicoletta Rosellini continues to explore emotional rock ballads in her own expressive style.
The February cover of With Arms Wide Open reflects consistency, artistic focus, and the strong connection between independent artist and community — a collaboration that will continue into the upcoming March release.
